Plantar Fasciitis

I've been sidelined by TERRIBLE plantar fasciitis.  If you don't know what it is count your blessings.  Basically the tissue at the bottom of my foot is damaged and the first few steps after sitting or sleeping are excruciating.  I'm now at the point where I'm having constant heel pain in my right foot.  I'm really praying it's not a heel spur so I've put off getting an x-ray, but I may have to bite the bullet and get it done.

I'd lost 12 pounds before the dreadful PF flared up, but it's slowly inched back up.  So now, I've put Insanity back on the shelf and will have to move onto more weight training instead of the high intensity jumping which makes my PF even worse.

Insanity

So I purchased Insanity right after my New Year's post. It took FOREVER to get here, but it arrived safely yesterday and I am now on Day 2 of my 60 day challenge. For those interested, the reviews are true. IT. IS. INSANE! But it is doable and so far I love it. I'll post my fit test results and my stats shortly, but I'm hoping that this will be what I'm looking for.
It was hard to find information on people who completed Insanity and started out "obese". Most of the youtube videos and before/after pictures on the internet were of people who were already thin. Since I'm 5'9 and 211 pounds I am considered obese and was concerned that I would not be able to do it. Well I did. I completed the fit test and the pylometric cardio circuit. While it's difficult, it's designed to push you at your current level of fitness. If you've got the motivation to continue moving when every muscle in your body tells you to stop, regardless of your weight or current fitness level, it appears that you should see results.

ANYHOO - here are my fit test results
Day 1
Switch kicks 50
power jacks 26
power knees 75
power jumps 10
globe jumps 5
suicide jumps 7
push-up jacks 0
low plank oblique 15

1 year later

Well 1 year (and 1 post) later - I'm 3 months postpartum and no weight loss. That's right. Just after I started the blog I discovered I was pregnant so needless to say, I put my weight loss goals on hold. Thankfully I'm back at pre-pregnancy weight right now which is a great place to start.

I'm also slowing starting to wean from breast feeding so I'll be able to cut my calories more as well - looking to eat no more than 1500 calories per day. I had an eye-opening experience last week. As I was researching how many calories my family should be eating, I found an online calculator that said I should be eating about the same number of calories as my 5 year old son. When I compared our dinner plates however, I was eating almost twice as much as him. I guess that's why I'm at 200 pounds - hahaha. So instead of counting and measuring my food intake, I'll simply make my plates about the same as I make my son's. Stay tuned to see how that goes.

My goals are still the same to drop down to 150 pounds. I will be starting my Power 90 workout dvds and riding the spinning bike until my INSANITY dvds come in. I just ordered them today so it'll be a few weeks before I can begin those.
